Researchers gathered a bunch of Mastodon posts to create a dataset for automatic "inappropriate content" flagging by training on Mastodon users' usage of the CW feature
And then there's this graph which should tell you everything
"Inappropriate toot" means it has a CW in this context
Inappropriate toots are much longer that unlabeled toots
I wonder if that's because it takes more characters to be "inappropriate", or maybe it's because Mastodon users are like "hmm, maybe not all of my followers are going to want to read my Adventure Time fan theories, better CW this rant so that can just scroll on by"
