weird birdsite meta, kpop
So whenever a post or hashtag gets popular on birdsite, a bunch of accounts will spam gifs and videos of kpop bands dancing and I'm completely confused
Are these posted by actual kpop fans, or is it bot activity?
Why does kpop in particular have this phenomenon, rather than any other niche fandom?
And why are they posting so reliably out of context in any thread that gets popular?
I really feel like calling it "Overwatch 2" is weird af
It's literally the same game, same client, just some PvE lore stuff that's locked behind a paywall
That's called an expansion pack
But calling it a sequel makes things weird, like, did Overwatch 1 actually have a story or lore?
Is Overwatch 1 just a massive teaser for Overwatch 2?
"The Story so Far"
A long time ago some shit happened...
Some shit is going to happen again some day...
The game you've been playing for three years? That's mostly Winston's fan-fics, I guess?

open source, exhaustion
I continue to move closer and closer to being done with open source, as a movement, entirely.
I am not seeing umbrella organisations that actually "do public good," and have lost faith in the ones I worked with previously. (HINT HINT)
I am seeing more burnt-out developers than I should who are dropping out of tech, incapable of supporting their families that way without murdering their consciences via substance abuse, prescription or otherwise.
I decided this game is going to go full futuristic socialist utopia
I want to show a civilisation where everyone's needs are taken care of
Even if the focus of the game is this inter-planetary racing event, I want the players to see a society that cares for everyone, even if it's just in the background of the mobile game they play to pass the time on the bus
